Adriana Campos and her Husband Die In Tragic Car Accident
Telenovela star Adriana Campos, 36, and her businessman husband Carlos Rincon have perished in a horrible accident in her native Colombia on Nov. 3. The car they were in plunged into the Cauca River, killing both. They leave behind a one-year-old son. What terrible news!
The couple was driving southwest of Colombia’s Department of Antioquia when Carlos lost control of the automobile, causing the car to fall in to the Cauca River near the town of Salgar, according to local reports. Both died at the scene. The accident occurred in the western jurisdiction of the nation outside Medellin.
Adriana was born in Chaparral, Colombia in the southwestern part of the country. She left her town to dedicate herself to acting in 2000, and made her TV debut at the age of 21. She had been acting for over 15 years, in which she not only starred in telenovelas, but also worked in Latin theater and film. For her work in telenovelas, she was first nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Nicol Aguilar in Vecinos in 2008, and received a second nomination for Best Antagonist as Pricila Cardona in Bella Calamidades in 2010. She also starred on the popular telenovelas El Clon, Tiempo Final, Victoria and Sin Retorno.
She suffered a tragic loss in 2010 while dating her El Clon co-star Mauricio Ochmann, with whom she worked with in the popular soap. The former couple was expecting their first child together, but lost the baby due to complications, according to TV y Novelas. But she overcame the horrible event and went on to marry businessman Carlos in 2014, and the couple welcomed son Geronimo Rincon Campos in 2014. Adriana was taking a year-long sabbatical from acting to focus on raising her son when the accident happened.
